The Clipsal 500 is one of if not the best V8 Super car round on the calendar. Not only is it the opening round of the series and the teams and fans are itching for the lights to go out, but the city of Adelaide comes to life and puts on one hell of a show both on and off the
This year Jetpilot was a major sponsor of the Milwaukee BMX rampage arena which featured 10 of the best dirt BMX riders in the world including Kyle Baldock, TJ Ellis, Daniel Sandoval, Paul Langlands, and our Daniel Chiarelli. The course constructed by dirt legend Cam White featured a 3 story roll in and a six pack of jumps which the riders attacked from the very first practice.
The Showtime FMX team were also in attendance again this year and were a crowd favourite with hundreds of people turning up to each and every show over the 4 day festival with the guys being very interactive with the crowd by bringing people up onto the ramp while Burchy and Robbie Marshall jumped over them in a train and also by running best photo competitions on instagram to win prizes.
The Hot wheels team featuring Matt Mingay also revved the crowd up over the weekend with Matt and Kent putting on dizzying display of drifting in the holden utes, and burning through some serious rubber on the stunt bikes
The highlight of the weekend however was the introduction of the super stadium trucks pioneered by racing legend Robbie Gordon. Our guys Brad Gallard and Matt Mingay put in some solid performance against the US guys over the weekend but it was Matt Mingay who was the crowd favourite with his aggressive driving and high flying antics around the concrete jungle adelaide streets that won the crowd over and netted him a 3rd place finish overall.
So after four days of blistering sun, music and V8 power this amazing event came to an end. If you get a chance to get down to this event it is a must the atmosphere is amazing and the show that the city of Adelaide puts on is one to behold.
