2022 DINGHY DERBY x PATRIOT CAMPERS
The Riverland Dinghy Derby is the pinnacle of dinghy racing!
First started in 1981, the derby is an exciting, fun and action packed
flat water race contested over 100km on the mighty Murray River.
This year our great mates over at Patriot Campers ventured down to Renmark, SA
to put their skills and dinghys to the test. We made sure to kit the 2 x teams out
with our best watersports equipment: vests, gloves, boots and dry bags
to give them the gear they would need to compete.
It was Patriots first time racing at the Dinghy Derby and they were racing in the
super competitive 30hp Standard category against a huge field of 45 other teams.
The 2022 derby had 7 different class categories with over 100 teams competing.
Both of the Patriot Campers team battled hard and both came in with respectable
1st time race finishes of 14th & 21st out of the 45 total starters in the 30hp Standard class.
Justin & Michael finishing with a time of 1:36:35 and Ashton & Dan with a time of 1:40:44.
The 30hp Standard class winners finished with an amazing time of 1:28:57 secs
so the boys weren't that far off the time for their first ever Dinghy Derby.
