The full rundown on Mens Jackets: Quilted, Padded & Ride Jackets
Mens jackets from the shed to the ramp
A jacket range built by a watersports brand has two halves: the ones for the cold, and the ones for the cold and wet. Both halves get the same zips, the same fabric weights on the label and the same expectation that you will wear them until the cuffs go. Everything here is cut to go over a tee or hoodie, in sizes S to 3XL.
Quilted and flannel jackets
The Quilted Flannel Jacket and Layered Flannel Jacket pair a 300 GSM cotton flannel outer with a 210T polyester taffeta quilted lining and 100% polyester fill, hooded and non-hooded, the Quilted with large button chest pockets. The Quilted Sherpa Jacket runs a 200 GSM brushed cotton and polyester flannel outer, an internal padded quilted polyester body lining, a sherpa-lined three-panel hood with a tie, a snap front and a scooped back tail. The whole flannel line, shirts included, is on flannel jackets and shirts.
Padded jackets and vests
The Onsite Jacket is 100% polyester with a padded body, an internal body and hood lining, a metal front zip and an adjustable hood with drawstring. The Onsite Pro moves the outer to polyester cotton twill for the days the jacket cops more than the weather. The Zip Up Vest pairs a 185 GSM water and stain-resistant shell with a 250 GSM polar fleece body lining, polyester padding, zippered welt pockets and internal hem toggles, for a dawnie when a sleeve is one thing too many. The Fueled Vest is the other sleeveless option.
Shells and ride jackets
The Fusion Ripstop Jacket is nylon ripstop with a water-resistant, breathable PU coating, the shell for wet work and wet mornings. The Venture Ride Jacket is the water side: 320D nylon taslon that handles spray and wind, a breathable internal mesh lining, a roll-away hood with bungee cord for when the weather turns mid-ride, adjustable back waist and wrist cuffs, three external pockets, an internal stash pocket and PU-coated YKK zips. The Venture Outdoor Jacket, Venture Spray Jacket and Track Day Jacket round out that side of the range.
Neoprene tour coats and race jackets
The Vault and RX Vault Tour Coats, the Heatseeker Tour Coat, the RX Vault Race Jacket and the Venture Neoprene Jacket are the jackets you wear on the ski, not to the ski: neoprene, most of it Limestone neoprene, cut to move with a vest underneath on a cold start line or a winter dawnie. Full detail on those is on mens wetsuit tops and jackets.
Which one
Standing around in dry cold: quilted flannel or the sherpa. Working in it: Onsite or Onsite Pro. Wet, windy, on the water: the Venture Ride Jacket or a tour coat. If the answer is all of the above, that is what the hoodie underneath is for.
Sizing and the rest of the kit
Size as you would a normal jacket and use the chest measurement on the size guide; a few styles run down to XS. Layer over a hoodie on the coldest mornings. The dealer-sold worksite versions, including the canvas jacket, are on work jackets.
