Kids clothing built by a jet ski brand
Most kids clothing is designed for the playground and hopes for the best near water. This range starts at the water and works back. The tees are 180 GSM cotton so they cop the washing machine, the hydro tees and rashies are quick-dry and rated UPF 50+ so they go in the water and come out again, and the boardshort is stretch fabric with triple-stitch construction because a kid will sit on a jetty in it. Sizes run 6 to 16.
Tees
The High Flyer, Yowie and Snakebite kids tees are 180 GSM 100% cotton in a regular fit with a round neck and short sleeves: tough enough for scraped knees and bush bashing, soft enough to be worn three days straight. Every kids tee, plus the hydro tees and rashies, is on youth tops.
Hydro tees and rashies
The Kids Hydro Tee and Kids Long Sleeve Hydro Tee are Jet-Lite micro jersey: ultra-lightweight, breathable, quick-drying and rated UPF 50+, in a relaxed fit that goes over swimmers and dries on the walk back to the car. The Kids Long Sleeve Rashie is the snug version in 9oz Hydro Tech polyester and spandex, UPF 50+, for under the life jacket on the ski. The girls rashies and swimsuits, and the rest of the sun kit, live on kids rashies.
Boardies
The Jet-Lite elasticated youth boardshort is 100% stretch, chlorine-resistant fabric with triple-stitch construction, so it holds its colour and shape through a summer of pool and boat. An elastic waist means they can get it on themselves, which matters more than it sounds at seven in the morning at the ramp.
Sizing
Sizes 6 to 16 across the range. The size guide works off a chest measurement, so size off the kid you have, not the birthday. Tees and hydro tees run regular to relaxed; rashies fit snug, and a loose rashie floats up over their face the first time they jump off the back. Between sizes on a tee, go up. Between sizes on a rashie, go snug.
The rest of the kit
Clothing is the easy half. The kids life jackets, all approved to AS 4758 and sized by chest and weight rather than age, the Flight youth wetsuits and the swim vest are on kids watersports. Life jacket first, then the tee. That is the order every family at the ramp figures out eventually, and it is quicker to start there.
