Rashie, hydro tee or fishing polo
A rashie is the snug one: cut close so it stays put under a vest and does not float up when you get flung. A hydro tee is the relaxed one in quick-dry Jet-Lite micro jersey, the T-shirt rashie you throw over boardies between swims. A fishing polo or sun shirt is the collared long sleeve for the dawnie with a rod in hand. All three do the same job in the sun; pick by how close you want it to sit and how long you are out.
Why sun protection matters on the water
Water bounces the UV straight back at you and the breeze hides the burn until it is done. A rated rashie is the easiest sun protection you will ever put on, because it does not wash off and you cannot forget to reapply it. Fit is the point
Snug enough that it stays down when you hit the water, loose enough to move. Rashies are cut close; hydro tees and polos are cut relaxed.
