A jet ski helmet, not a road lid pressed into service. The Vault Race Helmet is dual certified, with DOT FMVSS 218 stated on the product, and runs EPS Cone Head Technology under a ventilated shell with airprene liners that let the water out fast. Stainless steel accents mean salt is not a problem, sizes run S to 2XL, and at race pace the lid is not optional.

The full rundown on Vault Jet Ski Helmets
Jet ski helmets from the Vault race program
One lid, built for the water. The Vault Race Helmet is dual certified, with DOT FMVSS 218 stated on the product, and it is the helmet Jetpilot's race program built for riders who line up for a holeshot and for the ones who just ride like they do. Function, safety, comfort, quick drying: the whole brief in four words, and a fifth for salt.
Built to drain, not to hold water
A helmet that holds water is a bucket. The Vault runs perforated airprene liners for fast water release, so it drains as you climb back on the sled and dries between runs instead of by Thursday. The shell is ventilated, and the stainless steel accents mean a season of salt water is not a problem. EPS Cone Head Technology sits under it all, doing the job the certification is there to prove.
Water or road
Dual certified means it is built to perform on the water or the road, which is not the same as taking a road lid to the ramp. Road helmets keep water out; this one lets it out, and the hardware is chosen for salt. Read the certification detail on the product page, and check what your race club requires on the day.
Who it is for
The start line, first. A start line is spray, elbows and skis on the pin, and the lid is the piece of kit that lets you commit to the first buoy. Then the rider who hits the chop hard every weekend, punches out through the bar, or rides the kind of water where a wipeout is a matter of when. If you have ever come off at speed, you already own one.
Fit and the rest of the race kit
Sizes run S to 2XL. Measure around the head just above the eyebrows against the size guide, and fit it snug at the cheeks and crown with no rocking. The lid runs with jet ski goggles, strap over the shell, and jet ski gloves from the same program, and the full race line is on the RX Collection. The vest is still the first thing you put on: an AS 4758 approved jet ski life jacket, Level 50S at minimum on a PWC, high-vis Level 50 where your state requires it beyond smooth water.
The water is harder than it looks at race pace. Wear the lid.
