You Have Questions? We Have Answers!
What’s the difference between kids wetsuit steamers and springsuits?
At Jetpilot, we use steamers for maximum coverage and warmth (full legs and arms) and springsuits for warmer days when kids still want neoprene comfort without feeling too covered up. Steamers are the go-to for colder water, windy boat days, and long sessions.
How should a kids wetsuit fit?
We recommend a snug fit with no big gaps at the lower back, chest, or behind the knees. It should feel fitted but not restrict breathing or shoulder movement. If it’s baggy, it will flush with cold water and they’ll get cold fast.
What is “Youth PWC Race Gear” and how is it different from a normal wetsuit?
Our youth race gear is built specifically for PWC riding, not surfing. For example, our Vault Youth Race John is designed for youth PWC and jetski racers, using 2x2mm 360 stretch limestone neoprene with Jet-Lok seams, plus EVA Pro-Tech knee and shin pads for impact zones.
Does Jetpilot youth race gear have certified protection?
Yes. The Vault Youth Race John features a built-in or removable Protech back protector tested to CE Standard EN 1621-2:2014 Level 2.
What should kids wear under a wetsuit?
We recommend keeping it simple: swimwear underneath is usually best. If they’re prone to rubbing, a rash vest can help, but avoid bulky layers that bunch up and create pressure points.
How do you look after kids wetsuits so they last longer?
Rinse after every use, especially after salt water, then hang dry in the shade. Keeping zips clean and letting the suit dry fully before storage helps protect neoprene and seams.
Kids don’t do “quick dip”. They do full-send laps, dock jumps, cable park turns, and “one more run” until the sun drops. That’s why our Jetpilot Kids & Youth Wetsuits are built to handle real water time, with comfort that keeps them smiling and durability that keeps parents stoked.
When you look at the top listings for kids and youth wetsuits, the categories are consistent: steamers for colder days, springsuits for warmer sessions, and purpose-built pieces for wake and cable. Retailers also highlight the same deal-breakers parents care about: stretchy neoprene for easy movement, strong seams for longevity, and dependable zips for quick changes.
Built for growth spurts, rough play, and repeat sessions
We make durable kids wetsuits using quality stretch neoprene that feels like a second skin, so kids can move naturally without feeling restricted. Our range is designed with Jet-Lok seam construction to handle the wear and tear of active watersports, plus durable YKK zippers for easy on and off, even when they’re cold and impatient.
Kids wetsuit steamers for the colder months
When the water cools down, a steamer is the difference between a 20-minute shiver and a full afternoon on the lake. Our kids wetsuit steamers are designed for warmth through the core while staying flexible through shoulders, hips, and knees, because kids don’t stand still. Steamers are the go-to for winter boat days, windy mornings, and anyone who wants maximum coverage and comfort.
Junior cable park wetsuits that move freely
Cable park riding is constant movement, repeated falls, and a lot of time in the water. Our junior cable park wetsuits are designed for freedom in the shoulders and comfort through high-rub areas, with construction that’s made to keep chafe down and durability up. Springsuits are also a popular choice here, giving coverage and warmth without feeling heavy, especially in that versatile 2mm zone many kids wetsuit listings highlight.
Youth PWC race gear, scaled for young riders
For kids stepping up into racing and high-performance PWC riding, our youth PWC race gear is built with pro-level features in youth sizing. The Jetpilot Vault Youth Race John is designed for youth PWC and jetski racers and uses 2x2mm 360 stretch limestone neoprene with Jet-Lok seams for durability, plus EVA Pro-Tech knee and shin pads for impact protection. It also features a built-in or removable Protech back protector that’s tested to CE Standard EN 1621-2:2014 Level 2.
The Jetpilot difference
We build kids wetsuits the same way we build our adult gear: performance first, comfort always. From jackets and springsuits to steamers and race johns, every piece is designed to keep young riders warmer, more comfortable, and more confident, whether they’re on the boat, at the cable, or chasing their first race start.
Pick the right warmth level, lock in the fit, and let them run wild out there.
