Sunglasses for the ski, and the retainers that bring them home. The Shield 2-in-1 swaps between sunnies and goggles with a quick snap closure and is rated to AS/NZS 1067.1:2016; it does not float on its own, so clip a floating sunnie retainer on and any pair stays on the surface when you go in. Glare handled, wipeout survived.

The full rundown on Sunglasses & Floating Sunnie Retainers
Sunglasses for the water, and the strap that saves them
Australian sun off the water is a double serve, direct and reflected, and a pair of sunnies is the first thing the bay takes in a wipeout. This page fixes both. Clip the retainer on at the ramp, not after the first swim.
Shield 2-in-1 Sunnies and Goggles
One frame, two jobs. Ride it as sunglasses on the cruise across the flats, snap the goggle surround on when the chop picks up or the ski goes on the pin, with a quick snap closure that swaps in seconds. Lightweight, flexible and built to cop a season of salt, and rated to AS/NZS 1067.1:2016 and EN ISO 12312-1, so the UV protection is certified, not implied. It is the pair for the rider who cruises out and sends it home.
Floating Sunnie Retainers
A lightweight floating foam strap in a soft fabric cover that clips to the arms of any sunglasses and keeps them on the surface after a fall, in high-vis red, yellow or black so you can see them from the ski. It works on the Shield, on the polarised pair you fish in, and on the servo sunnies you swore you would not lose. The cheapest insurance on the water, and the one that pays out most often.
Polarised, floating, or both
Polarised lenses cut the glare off the flats so you can read the bottom on a dawnie and the chop on the way back. In the Jetpilot range the 100% polarised lenses live on the Vault Vision and OTG RX Vault goggles. For sunnies, floating is a retainer's job, so the honest set-up for a fishing run or a touring day is the polarised pair you trust, a retainer clipped on, and the Shield in the hatch for when the wind gets up.
When to switch to goggles
Once the ski is on the pin, spray gets past any sunglass, and in a race pack it is worse. For hard riding, the Vault Vision race goggles, the over-the-glasses OTG RX Vault and the floating H2O frameless goggles are on the jet ski goggles page.
Fit, care and what to pack
Fit the Shield snug enough that the goggle surround seals on your cheekbones without pinching. Rinse the frame and lens in fresh water after a salt session, dry it out of direct sun and keep it in the bag between rides so the lens stays scratch-free. The rest of the day's kit is on jet ski accessories, the sun protection for the rest of you is on UPF sun protection, and the shops that carry the range are on the watersports dealers page.
