A graphic is only as good as the cotton it is printed on. Print a race-pit logo on a thin tee and it twists at the hem by the third wash; print it on 210 to 240 GSM cotton jersey and it hangs straight for years. That is the logic of this range: the blank is the hero, cut in an oversized block that sits boxy through the body and drops at the shoulder, and the graphic comes second. Salt, sun and a footwell full of gear: it cops all of it.

The heavyweight oversized tees

• Vault Tee and Blade Heavy Tee — 210 GSM 100% cotton jersey in the oversized block, the Vault graphics front and back. The everyday heavyweight.
• Heavy Tee, Staple Tee and JTPLT Staple Tee — 210 GSM on the Heavy and the JTPLT Staple, 180 GSM on the Staple Tee, all oversized with a 1x1 ribbed crew neck that keeps its shape wash after wash. The plain ones, if a Jetpilot tee can be plain.
• Vault Staple Tee — 220 GSM heavyweight cotton jersey in a modern oversized fit with the ribbed crew neck.
• Battle, Tribal, Moto and Factory Heavy tees — 230 GSM, the thick ones, in a wide oversized block. Tribal brings the old-school logo, Moto the motorsport line, Factory a mix of screen and puff prints for the workshop look.

Regular fit tees and the polos

The Fuel Low Hit, Motley, Limits, Elevate and Flames tees are the classic cut: 160 GSM 100% cotton, regular fit, the Fuel Low Hit in combed cotton, pre-shrunk with double-needle hems, the Flames acid-washed, the Motley with a multi-colour discharge print that sinks into the cotton so it will not crack. For a collar, the Felix Polo and the Fueled Polo, the Fueled in 180 GSM Jet-Lite performance pique knit, cover the days a tee is not enough.

What GSM means

Grams per square metre: the weight of the fabric. Most tees on the market sit around 160 to 180 GSM and feel like it. 210 GSM is where heavyweight starts; 240 GSM is a tee with a hand to it that holds a graphic flat and holds its shape. It is listed on every product page, so the word heavyweight on this site always has a number behind it.

Fit and sizing

Oversized means oversized: buy your usual size and the cut does the work. Most of the range runs S to 3XL, the Vault Tech, Vault Core and 40th Anniversary tees to 4XL, and the size guide has the chest measurements. Regular-fit tees fit like a regular tee.

Wear it with

Under a 340 GSM hoodie when the arvo turns, over mens board shorts at the ramp, and under a cotton canvas snapback from caps and hats. When the sleeves need to go longer, mens long sleeve shirts has the tees, flannel and rated sun shirts. Get amongst it.
