Grand Prix of Italy - UIM Aquabike Rd 2

A technical track and tough racing conditions faced the riders for this important championship weekend. The overall standings were tight heading into the event with riders looking to move up the rankings.

SKI DIVISION GP1

Quinten Bossche took overall victory in Ski Division GP1. The Belgian rider won all 3 x races for a clean sweep of the event and extend his overall championship lead to 24 points. Quinten has dominanted the season winning all 6 Aquabike races across Rounds 1 & 2 for a championship total of 150 points.

Kevin Reiterer (Austria) finished 2nd with some impressive racing and also sits 2nd in the overall championship. Morgan Poret (France) rounded out the podium in 3rd for a Jetpilot Pro Team podium sweep. Morgan Poret now also sits in 3rd place for the overall championship. Both are within striking distance of the championship at the final race in Indonesia on November 23-24.

Toshi Ohara (Japan) came in 4th and continues his form after winning the recent World Series race in Japan. Jeremy Poret and Valentin Dardillat rounded out the top 6.

Young Australian Jayden Richardson impressed in his maiden international pro ski race. He takes away some valuable experience with a 14th place finish. Richardson will continue to build upon this experience into the Jet Ski World Series races later this year.

RUNABOUT GP1

Jetpilot Pro Team rider Francois Medori (France) finished 3rd for the event. Medori now sits just 3 points back for the overall championship lead. Swedish rider Samuel Johansson holding the slightest edge heading into the final round in November.

Medori will be hungry for redemption and pushing hard for the overall championship victory.

SKI LADIES GP1

Three different race winners saw a very close finish for the race weekend. Jesscia Chavanne, Estelle Poret and Jasmiin Ypraus all winning a race each. Emma-Nellie Ortendahl was consistent all weekend to take 3rd place just edging out Ypraus in 4th. Poret took 2nd place 2 points behind GP winner Chavanne.

The overall ladies championship is going to be a close finish. Series leader Ypraus currently in 1s place sits on 126 points, Poret in 2nd on 125 points and Chavanne in 3rd on 114 points.

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP CIRCUIT

The racing world is excited for the 3rd and final round of the 2024 Aquabike Championship. The race is scheduled for November 23-24, the Grand Prix of Lake Toba, will be held in Balige, Indonesia.
