As part of the Australian Industry Trade College (AITC)’s International Service Project (ISP), Jetpilot Workwear was proud to be project sponsors with their Jet-Lite™ tech fabric shorts for AITC staff and students.
Across two 10 day sessions last month, the AITC cohort visited Siam Reap, Cambodia, to help the not-for-profit group, New Hope Cambodia, build village houses and maintain the New Hope School.
The project was the fourth year that AITC has assisted New Hope Cambodia, with the project designed to allow the AITC to give back to the community and an experience of a lifetime for those involved.
Jetpilot Workwear National Sales Manager, Dan Binskin said “I was proud to speak to the group of young adults who are eager and enthusiastic in the trades,”
“They were all ears, asking plenty of questions and stoked to learn that the tech fabric in the shorts we had given the group were going to be perfect for the hot, humid, get-your-hands-dirty kind of conditions they were getting into on their trip,”
“They saw for themselves how the material stands up to harsh chemicals including bleach and chlorine no sweat; and were happy to know they could rinse them off at the end of the day and they’d dry quick enough to be ready to rock and roll the next day”, he said.
AITC Head of Industry Innovation and Strategy, Andrew Dutton, shared that a range of skilled tradespeople including electricians, plumbers and builders were part of the project, giving back to the community in Cambodia.
“We are so thankful to Jetpilot for joining us as we could not have delivered the project in such a short time without our invaluable partnerships,” said Andrew.
“It was an incredibly moving experience to give back to those in need. To say that we have changed people’s lives is an understatement,” Andrew added.
Jetpilot was proud to play a part in helping give back through a trade college that does things deliberately differently, proving its commitment to this mission through its New Hope Cambodia ISP.
