Little ones spend a lot of a boat day in someone's arms or lap. With no head pillow behind their head, there's less bulk between you, so cuddles and lap time stay comfy. A wide, soft strap between the legs clips in at the front to help stop it riding up, and a front zip and two buckles hold it snug, so you can relax and enjoy the day together.

The Fit

Made for babies and toddlers
One size, 1–2, for little ones from 10 to 15 kg with a chest of about 52 cm. If your child is outside that range, look at the Cause youth sizes in our kids life jacket range.

Prefer a head pillow?
The Cause Infant is the same size with a head pillow and a grab handle.

Snug is safe
It should feel snug, not tight, once it's done up. Too loose, and it can ride up over their chin in the water.

Check it on them
Zip it, clip both buckles and the leg strap, then lift the vest at the shoulders: it shouldn't ride up past their chin or ears.

Kids on boats
Several states have extra lifejacket rules for children on smaller boats, and the ages and boat sizes differ. The level your child needs also depends on your state and the water you're on, so check your state's rules before you head out.

Always within reach
A lifejacket isn't a substitute for watching them. Keep your little one within arm's reach around water.

Look after it
Rinse it in fresh water after every outing, dry it out of the sun and store it hung up. Check the zip, buckles and leg strap before each use, and replace it if it's torn, crushed or badly faded.
