About the Allure Ladies Life Jacket

Soft pink, with a wave curling down the back.

Pink is the softest way to wear the Allure: a pale pink shell with pink binding, a tonal stacked logo and leafy motif on the chest, and a single wavy line down the back. Underneath, it's an easy, regular fit for recreational riding, made in EcoPrene, Jetpilot's lighter neoprene alternative.

It's approved to Australian Standard AS 4758 Level 50S, accepted for towed riders in every state that requires a lifejacket.

The Fit

Regular Fit
Cut on Jetpilot's Scope/Allure ladies block, with a little more room through the shoulders and body than the slim-cut vests. It suits athletic builds and broader shoulders.

Tight Fit = Safe Fit
Regular doesn't mean loose. It should still feel tight when it's dry. It gives a little once it's wet, and a loose vest can ride up or slip off when you hit the water.

Find your size
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your bust, then check your weight:

6: 72 cm, 40–60 kg
8: 77 cm, 40–60 kg
10: 82 cm, 50–70 kg
12: 87 cm, 60–70 kg
14: 94 cm, 70 kg+
16: 102 cm, 70 kg+

Between sizes? Try both on over whatever you ride in, because a springsuit changes the fit. Zip it, clip the buckle and get a mate to lift it at the shoulders: it shouldn't ride up past your chin or ears.

When you're towed
Every state except WA requires an approved lifejacket when you're towed, and Level 50S is accepted in all of them. WA recommends one, and requires it for slalom. Every state and the NT also require an observer in the boat.

Look after it
Rinse it in fresh water after every sesh, dry it out of the sun, keep it away from fuel and store it hung up, not crushed under the esky. Check the zip, buckle and foam before you ride, and replace it if it's torn, crushed or badly faded.

Is a wake vest a lifejacket?

This one is: it's approved to Australian Standard AS 4758 Level 50S. A wake vest without an AS 4758 level mark isn't a lifejacket.

Do I need a lifejacket when I'm towed?

Every state except WA requires an approved lifejacket when you're towed, and Level 50S is accepted in all of them. WA recommends one, and requires it for slalom. Check your state's rules before you head out.

What size do I need?

Measure around the fullest part of your bust and check your weight against the chart under Find my size: sizes run 6 to 16, for an 72 to 102 cm bust. It's cut on Jetpilot's Allure front-entry block and shaped for a woman's body. It should feel snug when it's dry.
